Parking overview
Currency of the information: This is the information for 2026 (updated with latest news – 3rd April 2026).
Our show is easy to get to by road with York (the City) and the Racecourse fully signed with both permanent and temporary event show signing. However we strongly recommend that all attendees follow the temporary event signing to the venue. These signed routes may not be the shortest but they will help you avoid congestion in York City Centre.
Public parking in most years varies according to the day you travel, what time you get to the site. SATNAV settings therefore also differ depending on your day of travelling.
Walking distance to/from the car parking – If you have limited mobility, but are not a blue badge holder, you may prefer to attend on Sunday or Monday when the walk to the venue from the car park will be shorter.
Disabled parking – limited parking will be available, however, disabled parking slot availability is subject to demand For 2026 the officially marked spaces are on the right hand side by the bridge over Racecourse Road.. If you can attend on Monday it is normally our least busy day.
The non-public set up day – Friday
Exhibitor & Trader arrival, unloading & parking – Please ensure that you read the pre-show information supplied. Significant site revisions were made by the Racecourse during 2025 including closing vehicle access to/from the front apron.
Public – Saturday
We currently anticipate that as the regular car-boot sale is scheduled to be on this year Saturday parking for the public will be on the grassed area off Knavesmire Road. Further details to come nearer the Show date. A SATNAV setting of the junction of Knavesmire Road & Knavesmire Avenue will be close enough for you to spot the gateway through to the Knavesmire parking area.
As in previous years the regular York Park run is scheduled to start at 9am.
Public – Sunday & Monday (Updated for 2025)
Parking will be in the coach park area beyond the end of Racecourse Rd. If this fills an overspill area can be opened.
The car park’s address is the same as the venue – York Racecourse, Racecourse Road, YORK YO23 1EX. However, when setting your satnav with the post code please check which road it has selected and that it is directing you to Racecourse Rd as other parts of the racecourse, including the stables located off Tadcaster Rd, share the same postcode.
Other
On street parking – A Residents Only on street parking scheme covers parts of the South Bank residential area of York, however, you should not need to consider, or use, on street parking. Parking for over 800 cars is available free of charge.
